NEN Community Garden update

The idea for a community garden in McRae Park was set aside after the NEN board learned that the total costs to the neighborhood would still be in the thousands, even after a Salem Parks Improvement Fund grant.  For such a small garden, the costs were too high to proceed.

Many neighbors expressed support for community gardening though, so anyone with information on potential community garden sites is encouraged to contact the NEN board so that another spot — one that already has a water supply — can be found.
