Sharon Warren-Murrell the Principal of Englewood Elementary notified the NEN Board of some upcoming changes coming to Englewood Elementary:
1) Englewood is undergoing major renovations this summer. The school will be closed for abatement of asbestos, new flooring, new ceiling tiles and new plumbing lines. It’s an exciting time for Englewood. Much needed renovations are being paid for from the Construction Bond that was passed in 2008.
2) In cooperation with Salem Keizer Transportation Dept., Risk Management, the City of Salem Traffic Engineers, and parent/community input we will be changing our student drop off and pick-up system. Englewood School will have new signage and traffic systems around the school during drop off and pick up times. This initiative has been a cooperative effort that was initiated by Englewood parents who designed a parent survey to determine areas of concern.
3) Our School Office will be relocated for the summer to Grant Community School. We are however, closed as usual the month of July.
4) Englewood will celebrate our 100th year CENTENNIAL on Sept. 27, 2010. The community is invited.
